Butt/Ass acne

Butt acne is a real pain in the ass! Haha, sorry, couldn't resist. Now lets get down to business.

What causes Butt Acne?

Butt acne is caused when glands produce excess oils, this overproduction of oils can lead to pores becoming blocked or clogged, and then pimples form. And even more so because the butt often takes the full brunt of your weight, leaving it hot and sweaty. Very similar to facial acne or acne on any other part of the body. But there is one difference. This part of the body is covered in bacteria, which can lead to pores getting clogged more easily.

Another cause might not be as serious as acne, but you could possibly be allergic to your washing detergent, and in that case, just change to a different brand.

Butt acne treatments? (How to clear your rear!)

Because butt acne is so similar to facial or any other type of acne, the treatments will be much the same. Here are some great ways to treat butt acne;

  • Visit your local GP or dermatologist, they will be able to prescribe you some form of acne treatment/medication which will be able to clear up your acne.
  • DO NOT touch, pick or try to pop a pimple, this will just spread the bacteria to other parts of your face and could cause further outbreaks, it could also cause permenent scarring.
  • Drink PLENTY of water. This will flush out the toxins in your body through your kidneys, instead of through your skin pores, which could cause outbreaks. You should aim to drink 8-10 glasses per day. This is also very good for other parts of your body and can help you lose weight!
  • Every half an hour, apply an ice pack to the pimple and hold it there for 120 seconds, this will decrease inflammation, redness and reduce pain that sometimes come with pimples.
  • Crush up 1-2 asprin tablets, form a paste with it and apply to the pimple. Wash off with warm water.
  • At night, apply normal toothpaste, (None of that "whitening" stuff) leave it on overnight, and in the morning wash off with warm water.
  • Apply some benzoyl peroxide cream which will dry out the spot and shrink it in size. It comes in a variety of concentrations, ranging from 2.5 to 10.
  • Apply a drop of alcohol which will reduce inflammation and redness.
  • Apply fresh lime juice to the pimple, this has also be known to reduce inflammation and redness.
  • Get a bit of cloth or rag, clean it, then warm it up using hot/warm water. Hold over the pimple for 5 minutes. Repeat this twice a day. This will help the circulation to the pimple and help the "head" to form faster.
  • You should aim to cleanse, wash, gently exfoliate and moisturize your skin TWICE a day.
  • Exfoliate that area three times a week, this will remove all dead skin cells and excess oils.
  • Keep the area dry and clean it regularly.

GOOD LUCK!
