Bacne
Bacne is the term or nickname to describe acne
breakouts on your back. This particular form of acne can
be embarrassing and depressing, but there are ways to
treat this condition.
Bacne usually develops at the same time as acne on any other
part of the body; puberty, when your hormones are raging, acne
strikes. But thats not to say it cannot develop in later life
as well, over 20% of males and 40% of females develop "Adult
Acne", for more information about that follow this link;
Adult Acne.
Acne is often so severe on your back because there is a
large amount of oil secretion there and combined with
the equally large number of pores on your back, its a
prime spot for acne to develop. Bacne develops
when skin cells clog up pores and oils are not able
to escape from your body and hence inflammation is caused.
It some serious cases, this can even cause cysts, if this
happens you should consult your local GP or dermatologist
immediately.
Bacne treatments
Bacne can be treated much the same way
as body acne; How to
get rid of body acne.
But your acne treatment all depends on the severity of your
bacne and whether other acne treatments or medication have
worked or not.
To effectively treat your bacne you need to have a
progressive and effective treatment regime. To sort these out,
it is best you visit your local GP or dermatologist. There are
4 main ways to treat bacne, these are;
- Reduce pore blockage - This is
normally done by exfoliating your skin. That means using a
chemical or abrasive cloth to remove the top layer of your
skin and therefore remove any dead skin or oils.
- Altering of hormone levels -
Unbalanced hormone levels are usually found in women and
can be the cause of acne. For this to be treated women need
to balance out their hormones, such as
oestrogen/progestogen, this can be done by putting them on
the birth control pill.
- Reduction of P. acne bacteria -
This treatment is usually reserved for Mild Acne to Moderate Acne. Many over the
counter treatments will have a positive affect, the most
effective being the ones that contain benzoyl
peroxide.
- Reduction of inflammation -
This kind of treatment is usually reserved for severe
bacne, and can include the atom bomb of all acne
treatments; Accutane. These can
include oral medication or topical antibiotics, such as;
clindamycin, erythromycin, stiemycin and tetracycline,
these can be applied directly to the skin. For oral
medication, tetrecycline is usually used to treat
bacne.
