Acne Care
Acne is a disease. A recognised medical
condition. If you had a sore throat, you wouldn't just leave it
alone, you'd go to the doctors and get some medication, right?
And acne is no different.
To properly treat acne, you need to
seek professional advice. Visit your local GP or dermatologist,
and they will be able to prescribe you some powerful medication
that will help to clear up and prevent your acne.
This type of treatment is actually the best in my opinion,
as these treatments can get to the root of the problem and are
more long-term solutions. They can treat the
core of the problem; over production of oils and excess
bacteria.
To get access to prescription treatment you will need to
visit your local GP or dermatologist. They will look at 2
things to decide the treatment they will give you;
- What you SAY and HOW your acne looks
- The PREVIOUS treatments you have had and how effective
they were.
From that decision they then decide which kind of treatment
to give you, the main ones are;
- Topical antibiotics - cream or lotion.
- Benzoyl Peroxide - cream
- Oral antibiotics - tablets, such as
erythromycin, tetracycline, minocycline and
Accutane.
These are all very powerful treatments, that get to the core
of the problem, and usually show very positive results in most
people's cases.
If that does not work, you have two more options;
Natural Home Remedy Treatments
These are basically homemade pastes and solutions, normally
made with ingredients you already have in your house, or
with ingredients you can pick up at your local supermarket.
Some of them are plain useless, where as others are seen to be
the "cure" to acne and are very effective.
Acne 101 has compiled a list of the most effective of these
home remedy treatments here; Natural Home Remedy
Acne Treatments. We have tried to give as much detail as
possible on these to help you.
Acne Laser Treatments
This uses lasers to kill p. acne, it is most effective on
mild acne, this treatment has shown very positive results,
but is short term. It only lasts for a few
months before it wears off and you need to get a "touch-up" and
it can be quite expensive.
